Early Bird Offer €5 off when booked before 30/04/17
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures and this workshop will start to show you how it's done.
Before you arrive you must be able to do the double crochet stitch (UK terminology, dc. US terminology single crochet, sc) and chain stitch fairly confidently.
By the end of this 2 hour workshop you will have created a wonderful little bird to take home with you, learning the techniques needed to continue with your next Amigurumi creature. The robin and sparrow will show you how to change colours.
An applique patch is used to add features to the owl and penguin.
The pattern for these birds have been created especially for this workshop.
The tiny birds are approximately 6cm / 2.25 in high, penguin approximately 6.5cm / 2.5 in high making them ideal to use as bag charms, key rings, cat toys or just as a little toy
You will need to bring a size 3mm (US 2 / C) or 3.5mm (US 4 /E) hook,
although hooks can be purchased from the SHY shop.
You will be provided with double knitting yarn and stuffing material. The size of crochet hook depends on your normal tension, the looser you crochet the smaller the hook required
